A study published in the journal "JAMA Pediatrics" found a significant association between high social media use and an increase in the prevalence of depression symptoms among adolescents. We all know that our phones are as good as they are bad for us, but that doesn’t stop us from obsessing over like counts, followers and other people’s activities, does it?
In the film, Ahana who is played by Ananya Pandey gets consumed by a breakup and changes her entire online persona in order to lure her ex back. However, she eventually realises that trying to be someone else online is not a sustainable way to survive.
Imaad, played by Siddhant Chaturvedi is Tinder obsessed and can constantly be seen swiping left and right through the show. It’s only after a serious revelation do we understand the void he was trying to fill with meaningless interactions and relationships.
Neil, played by Adarsh Gaurav is always comparing himself to others online. He wants more money, more luxuries, a better lifestyle and even better parents. However, it soon comes to light that even those who seem to have it all - are lacking quite a lot.
A great movie when it comes to the reality of dating and relationships but also our relationships with our phones! Give it a watch and let us know what you think.
