At the end of the day, no matter who you are, everyone is simply looking to lead a balanced, happy life that they can enjoy. If you’re living with high levels of stress, this becomes unachievable and also unhealthy. We already know the negative affects that chronic stress can have on our minds and bodies. So how do we manage daily stress?

  1. Identify the stressors in your life: take responsibility for what is causing you stress and understand the root causes
  2. Create a stress journal: in this journal you can note down what caused you stress, how you felt, what you did in the moment and then what you did to make yourself feel better?
  3. Take a break: whether this means stopping to take a walk, a breathing exercise, a short mindfulness meditation, call a friend or put on some music and relax
  4. Speak to someone: whether this means a friend, parent, colleague or healthcare professional, sometimes speaking to someone is all it takes.
