So let’s get down to business and share some facts that reflect India according to State of India’s Environment report 2023.

  • Over 30,000 water bodies have been encroached upon and are generating more than 150,000 tonnes of waste each day. More than half of this is being dumped in landfills or being left unattended.
  • Indians are losing an average of four to five years of their lives due to air pollution
  • Rural India needs 35% more community health centres than are currently there.
  • From January till October 2022, the country saw 271 days of extreme weather. These events claimed over 2,900 lives.

These statistics are a clear reminder that we need to do better when it comes to protecting our planet. This means using less plastic, recycling more, consuming less and conserving energy. We hope today serves as a sign to start paying more attention to your environment and making those small changes today.
